Niagara Region Public Health
Information
for Food Vendors and
Food Trucks

In order for food vendors to participate in our events there are Public Health rules and regulations that needed to be followed prior to showing up at an event to sell your product.

Please click on and review the following document generated by Niagara Public Health prior to your temporary outdoor food service event. It outlines the minimum standards to help you provide the safest food possible and reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
*Some of the information may not be relevant to you, depending on your menu.

In Niagara region, event organizers must report the event and a list of all the food vendors (and their information) participating at the event to Niagara's Public Health Department in advance. This information includes: company name, contact name, contact phone number, contact email address, contact mailing address, food items being brought to the event, food preparation location name and address, providing a copy of your latest inspection report, and an email/letter of agreement for those vendors using community/shared kitchens).  Each food vendor must ALSO register the event with Niagara Public Health. Once reported by the event organizers, Niagara Public Health will await for the application from each food vendor.

As a food vendor, you must:

  • Complete the online vendor application form at least THREE WEEKS before your first event or market each calendar year. Vendors who do not submit this form will not be allowed to participate.

  • Confirm your participation directly with the event or market coordinator

A public health inspector will contact you about your completed vendor application form. They will review storage, handling and preparation practices for the food and drinks you plan to serve or sell.
